The Lord Will Receive Me

When no one shows up for you

A prayer from Psalm 27:10

For some people this verse is theoretical, but for you it might be literal: family who stayed on the inside and now treats you like a stranger, or worse, a cautionary tale. The psalm goes to the most painful abandonment imaginable and finds a door still open. Being let go by them isn't being let go by God.

Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Psalm 27:10 (NIV)

The prayer

God, even when everyone else has left, You will receive me. Teach me Your way and lead me on a level path.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
