You are the one everybody in the house brings their worst moment to. You carry it, you clean it up, you do it again at 3 a.m., and nobody hands out a grade. Somewhere in there the Sunday rhythm went. For most parents that is not a decision; it is a calendar with no hour left in it that is yours. Faith does not need the hour back. These nine short prayers are for the parent who needs some of what they give away all day, written for the moments a day with small children actually has. Pick the one you are in. Nobody is watching, and nobody will ask you to join anything.

Nobody was meant to do this alone, and the people who understand a Tuesday with a toddler are other parents. These are the groups parents of small children already find. They are their own organizations; we list them, we do not vouch for any group. Go slow, same as anywhere.

MomCo (formerly MOPS) Groups for moms of young children run in partnership with local churches, 82,000+ meetings a year in 110+ countries by their own count. Their site finds the meetup near you.

Many churches also run a Parents' Night Out or a Mom2Mom group that is open to anyone; the church nearest you is the place to ask, and you do not have to attend on Sunday to go on Tuesday.

Is this for dads too?

Yes. The searches say "mom" and the page says parents on purpose. Every prayer here is written so a dad reads himself in it, and the driveway one was written with him in mind first.

What if it is more than tired?

If you are scared of what you might do, call or text 988 now. If the heaviness does not lift, or the dark thoughts come at 3 a.m. and stay, tell your doctor or your midwife this week. That is not a failure of faith. Asking is the most faithful thing you can do for you and your child.

Do I need an account to read these?

These nine are for you. A prayer for your child is easy to find anywhere; a prayer for the person holding the child is not, and that is the one this page carries. Pray them over a sleeping child if you like; they hold up.
