Where There Is No Revelation

A prayer for loneliness, from Proverbs 29:18

For years, direction arrived secondhand: a sermon, a study, someone telling you what the week's verse meant. On your own it's easy to drift, and this proverb is honest about what happens to people with no vision to steer by. But wisdom was never kept in a pulpit, and it still speaks to anyone willing to listen for it.

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction. Proverbs 29:18 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, in my isolation I feel like I've lost direction. Give me Your revelation. Help me heed wisdom's instruction and find blessing in Your guidance.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
