If God Is For Us
A prayer for loneliness, from Romans 8:31
After you leave, you find out who was actually for you, and the list can get short fast: some people take sides, some just talk. Paul's question doesn't pretend nobody stands against you. It just sets all of them next to the God who stands with you, and lets you do the math.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 (NIV)
The prayer
God, if You are for me, who can be against me? In my loneliness I remember that You did not spare Your own Son. How will You not also graciously give me all things?
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
