He Will Not Slumber
A prayer for loneliness, from Psalm 121:3
This is a prayer for the 3am kind of loneliness, when it's too late to call anyone and you're not sure who you'd call now anyway. The line beneath it was written for travelers sleeping in open country, and its promise is simple: someone stays awake on watch. You can close your eyes, the night is covered.
He who watches over you will not slumber. Psalm 121:3 (NIV)
The prayer
God, in my loneliness, I am comforted that You never slumber or sleep. You watch over me constantly. My help comes from You.
