Ever-Present
A prayer for loneliness, from Psalm 46:1
Help used to have gatekeepers: you asked through the right people, and it arrived with opinions attached. This verse describes help with no front desk and no one deciding whether you deserve it. It's present tense, already in the room, already in the trouble with you.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, You are ever-present—always with me, always helping in trouble. In my loneliness, I hide in Your refuge. You are my strength.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
