Do Not Turn a Deaf Ear
A prayer for loneliness, from Psalm 28:1
When enough people stop answering, prayer can start to feel like one more unreturned call. David knew that dread and said it straight to God's face, which means you're allowed to say it too. Telling God not to ignore you isn't rude or faithless, it's in the Bible, and it counts as prayer.
To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. Psalm 28:1 (NIV)
The prayer
God, I call to You—do not turn a deaf ear to me in my loneliness. You are my Rock. Hear my cry for mercy.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
