At My Right Hand
A prayer for loneliness, from Psalm 16:8
The right hand was where your closest ally stood in a fight, the one who kept you steady. If that place beside you is empty now, this line of David's offers what no falling-out can take away. Being unshakable was never about how many stood with him, only about who.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, with You at my right hand, I am not alone. You are my portion and my cup. You make my lot secure even in isolation.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
