Until the Disaster Passes

When you just need to get through it

A prayer from Psalm 57:1

Some griefs can't be fixed, only sheltered through. This psalm knows the difference: I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. A prayer for the hunkering-down season, with no shame in it.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. Psalm 57:1 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, I hide in the shadow of Your wings until this disaster passes. You send from heaven and save me. You send forth Your love and faithfulness.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
