This psalm starts with an actual question, eyes up, scanning the horizon: where does my help come from? Questions were never the enemy of faith; this one is faith, asked out loud. A prayer for asking it again and staying for the answer.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I lift my eyes and ask where my help comes from. It comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. You will watch over my life.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today.
Amen can wait until you mean it.
