Confidence When Doubting
A prayer for doubt, from Hebrews 4:15-16
You may have been taught that doubt disqualifies you from coming to God until you sort it out. Hebrews says the opposite: Jesus knows human weakness from the inside, so come while you're still unsure. A prayer for approaching anyway.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 (NIV)
The prayer
Jesus, even when I doubt, I can approach Your throne with confidence. You understand human weakness. Meet my uncertainty with mercy and grace. Help my unbelief.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
