In Whom I Take Refuge

A prayer for doubt, from Psalm 18:2

A refuge isn't a place you go when everything is fine. You run to it precisely when things aren't. This prayer takes shelter in God while the doubts are still loud, because shelter was never conditional on certainty.

My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2 (NIV)

The prayer

Lord, You are my rock, in whom I take refuge when doubt assails me. You are my shield and my stronghold. I am safe in You.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
