Grace in Time of Need
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Hebrews 4:15-16
Grace to help us in our time of need is the promise, and an anxious hour counts as a time of need. Jesus was tested in every way, so nothing about your fear will surprise him. A prayer for approaching confidently, mid-anxiety, un-ashamed.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 (NIV)
The prayer
Jesus, You were tempted in every way and understand my fears. I approach Your throne with confidence, not cowering in shame. Give me grace to help in this moment of anxiety. You understand my weakness.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
