When Guilt Overwhelms
A prayer for shame, from 1 John 1:9
Some guilt is real: things done, words said, and no amount of positive thinking dissolves it. Scripture's answer isn't pretending; it's confession, and a God who is faithful and just to forgive. A prayer for bringing the actual thing and leaving with less of it.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, guilt weighs heavy on my heart. I've made mistakes and I can't seem to forgive myself. Help me receive Your forgiveness and let go of the guilt that keeps me bound.
