Freedom from Shame
A prayer for shame, from Romans 8:1
There is now no condemnation: eight words that contradict almost everything shame has ever told you. This is a prayer for the days the weight is crushing and you need the verdict read out loud again, slowly, over you specifically.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, the weight of shame is crushing me. I feel unworthy, broken, and exposed. Remind me that in You there is no condemnation. Break these chains of shame and help me walk in the freedom You offer.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
