Shame keeps the whole system braced, like something bad is always about to be found out. This psalm speaks to the soul the way you'd calm a spooked animal: return to your rest. The Lord has been good to you. A prayer for unclenching.

The prayer
Lord, my soul, return to rest, for the Lord has been good to me. He heard my cry. He saved me. I am free from shame because of His mercy.
