Rescue Me

When you feel exposed in front of people

A prayer from Psalm 31:1

Let me never be put to shame is a prayer the psalmists prayed constantly, which means the fear of disgrace is very old and very human. When shame feels like a place you're trapped in, this one calls for the rescue.

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. Psalm 31:1 (NIV)

The prayer

God, in You I take refuge from shame. Turn Your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
