Never Forsaken
A prayer for shame, from Psalm 37:25
Shame whispers that you've finally been written off, by God included. An old man's testimony in this psalm says otherwise: in a long lifetime of looking, he never once saw God forsake his own. A prayer for borrowing his eyes when yours can't see it.
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. Psalm 37:25 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, shame tells me I am forsaken, but Your Word says the righteous are never forsaken. Uphold me with Your hand.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
