Faces Not Covered With Shame
A prayer for shame, from Psalm 34:5
Shame lives in the face: the flush, the dropped eyes, the not wanting to be looked at. This psalm makes a promise aimed exactly there: those who look to him are radiant, their faces never covered with shame. A prayer for lifting your eyes first.
Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I look to You and ask You to make me radiant. Let my face not be covered with shame. I sought You; deliver me from disgrace.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
