He Saves the Crushed
A prayer for loneliness, from Psalm 34:18
This is a prayer for when pain has cleared the room, when people didn't know what to say, so they said less and drifted. The verse underneath claims God moves the opposite direction. Where others back away, he comes near, and nearest of all when something in you has given way.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, I feel so alone with a crushed spirit. But You promise to be close to the brokenhearted. Be near to me now.
