Refuge, strength, ever-present help in trouble: this psalm was written for days when the ground itself feels unreliable. It doesn't promise the earth won't give way. It promises where you can stand while it does. A prayer for the shaking.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1-3 (NIV)
The prayer
God, You are my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in this trouble. Even if the earth gives way, I will not fear. You are with me.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today.
Amen can wait until you mean it.
