Perfect Peace
A prayer for betrayal, from Isaiah 26:3-4
Your mind replays what they did at two in the morning, and peace feels like something other people have. Isaiah wrote about a steadiness that comes from where the mind rests, not from how the story ended. Pray this when the spinning will not stop on its own.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, after betrayal has shattered my peace, I ask You to keep me in perfect peace. Help my mind be steadfast on You. You are the Rock eternal when everything else has crumbled.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
