Steadfast Mind
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Isaiah 26:3-4
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast: the peace in this verse is tied to where the mind stays pointed. Anxiety is partly an attention problem, and this prayer is the retraining. A prayer for a mind fixed on the Rock instead of the storm.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, I fix my mind on You. Keep me in perfect peace as I trust in You. You are the eternal Rock, unmoved by the storms that shake me. Still my anxious thoughts.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
