Never Forsaken

A prayer for betrayal, from Hebrews 13:1-6

Getting cut off by a church can feel like being left by a whole family at once. This passage sets a promise against that exact fear, spoken in God's own voice, with a double never in it. Pray it when the leaving is fresh and you need something that stays.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Hebrews 13:1-6 (NIV)

The prayer

Lord, even when people have betrayed and forsaken me, You never will. You are my helper. I will not be afraid of what mere mortals can do to me. Your faithfulness remains when human faithfulness fails.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
