What Can Man Do

When you are afraid of another person

A prayer from Hebrews 13:1-6

So much anxiety is about people: their opinions, their power over you, what they said or might say. This passage sets a different anchor: the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? A prayer for fearing people less.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Hebrews 13:1-6 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, You have said You will never leave or forsake me. With this confidence I declare: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Free me from fear of people.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
