Fear of Man is a Snare
A prayer for betrayal, from Proverbs 29:25
You left, and part of you is still bracing for what they will say about it. This proverb calls that bracing a trap, and says the way out is safety that rests on God instead of on staying in anyone's good graces. A prayer for when their opinions still have a grip on you.
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, fear of people has ensnared me after being hurt by them. But whoever trusts in You is kept safe. Free me from this snare and help me trust in You alone.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
