Cannot Be Shaken

A prayer for betrayal, from Psalm 125:1-2

Betrayal teaches you how much can move that you thought never would. This psalm is about the part that does not: a God who surrounds you the way mountains surround a city, on every side, with no gaps where someone failed to show up. Stand on that today.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore. Psalm 125:1-2 (NIV)

The prayer

Lord, those who trust in You are like Mount Zion, unshakable. As mountains surround Jerusalem, You surround me. Human trust has been broken, but You are unmovable.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
