The 3 a.m. feed
The feed, the rock, the walk down the hall, again.
He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

God, it is 3 a.m. again and I am the only one awake in this house, except You. You watch over this child without sleeping, so I do not have to be the one who never sleeps. Hold them while I hold them. Give me back some of the sleep I am losing, somewhere, somehow. And when the sun comes up, help me be kind. Amen.
