Shame rarely announces itself; it just makes the ground feel less solid until you're slipping. This psalm catches that exact moment: when I said my foot is slipping, your unfailing love supported me. A prayer for mid-slip, which is when it's needed.
When I said, "My foot is slipping," your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. Psalm 94:18 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, when shame makes me slip, Your unfailing love supports me. When anxiety is great, Your consolation brings joy. You are my rock.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today.
Amen can wait until you mean it.
