Trust and Not Be Afraid
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Isaiah 12:2-4
I will trust and not be afraid is a decision made out loud, before the feelings agree. Isaiah frames it around who God is: my strength, my defense, my salvation. A prayer for saying the sentence first and letting the calm catch up.
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2-4 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I declare that You are my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid. You are my strength and my defense. Replace my fear with trust in Your saving power.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
