Rest and Quietness

When you cannot stop pushing

A prayer from Isaiah 30:15

Anxiety loves motion: checking, fixing, planning, redoing. Isaiah's prescription runs the other way: in quietness and trust is your strength. A prayer for the anxious doer, asking God to make stillness feel like safety instead of danger.

In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)

The prayer

Lord, teach me that my salvation is found in repentance and rest, not in striving. My strength comes from quietness and trust. Calm my anxious activity and help me find peace in stillness with You.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
