Peace of Christ

A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Colossians 3:15

Something is going to rule your heart today; the only question is what. This short verse suggests appointing the peace of Christ to the job, on the grounds that peace is what you were called to. A prayer for changing who's in charge in there.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, I give the peace of Christ permission to rule in my anxious heart. I was called to peace, not to worry. Help me cultivate thankfulness even in my fear.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
