Peace in Trouble
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from John 16:33
Jesus put it plainly: in this world you will have trouble. No spin. Then, in the same breath, take heart, I have overcome the world. A prayer for anxious days that need both halves: the honesty and the overcoming.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I know I will have trouble in this world, but I can have peace in You. Take heart, You say—because You have overcome the world. My anxiety doesn't get the last word.
