No Fear When Heat Comes
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Jeremiah 17:5-8
Jeremiah describes a tree that does not fear when heat comes, because its roots reach the stream. The heat still comes; the roots decide what it does to you. A prayer for sending your roots deeper than this anxious season can reach.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, make me like a tree planted by water. When the heat of anxiety comes, let me not fear. My confidence is in You. I send my roots deep into Your faithfulness.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
