Foundation on the Rock
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Matthew 7:25-29
The storm in this parable hits both houses; nobody gets exempted. What differs is what's underneath. When anxiety rises like floodwater, the question isn't how hard it's raining but what you're standing on. A prayer for the foundation.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:25-29 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, the storms of life beat against me, but I am building my life on the rock of Your words. When anxiety rises like floodwaters, my foundation remains secure in You.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
