Come to Me
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Matthew 11:28-29
Anxiety is exhausting in a way that's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't carried it. Jesus' invitation is aimed at exactly that tiredness: come to me, all you who are weary and burdened. A prayer for handing over the weight and actually resting.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I am weary from carrying this anxiety. I come to You. Take my burdens and give me rest. You are gentle and humble in heart.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
