Self-Control
A prayer for anger, from Proverbs 16:32
Proverbs says a person with self-control is stronger than a warrior who takes a city, which means the fight you're in is a real one. A prayer for when the rage wants the wheel and you'd rather it didn't get it today.
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. Proverbs 16:32 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, I want the strength that comes from self-control, not the destruction that comes from unchecked rage. Make me patient. Give me victory over my own emotions.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
