Seek His Face

A prayer for grief, from Psalm 27:8

Grief can make prayer feel pointless, and still something in you keeps reaching. This psalm catches that reflex mid-motion: my heart says, seek his face. A prayer for following the instinct even when the feelings haven't caught up.

My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, Lord, I will seek. Psalm 27:8 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, my heart says, "Seek His face!" Even in grief, I will seek Your face. Do not hide from me or turn away Your servant.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
