Rest in God Alone
A prayer for grief, from Psalm 62:5-8
This psalm talks to itself on purpose: yes, my soul, find rest in God. Sometimes in grief that's what praying is, telling your own soul true things until it settles. A prayer for pouring out your heart and resting in the only place that holds.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-8 (NIV)
The prayer
My soul, find rest in God alone. My hope comes from Him. He is my rock and salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. I pour out my heart to Him.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
