Overflow With Hope
A prayer for grief, from Romans 15:13
Overflow is a bold word to put anywhere near a grieving person, and this verse is honest about the mechanics: the filling is God's doing, by the Spirit, as you trust. Your job is smaller than it sounds. A prayer for hope beyond what you can generate yourself.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
The prayer
God of hope, fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in You. Let me overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit, even in this season of grief.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
