My Tears on Your Scroll

A prayer for grief, from Psalm 56:8

Somewhere you may have learned to apologize for crying. This psalm imagines God doing something else entirely with tears: recording them, listing them on a scroll, keeping count. Not one is wasted or ignored. A prayer for crying accompanied.

Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll—are they not in your record? Psalm 56:8 (NIV)

Father, You record my misery. You list my tears on Your scroll. Not one is forgotten. You see my grief.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
