He Heard My Voice
A prayer for grief, from Psalm 116:1-2
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice: the psalmist's love has a specific reason, and it's being heard on the worst day of his life. A prayer of raw gratitude for a God who turns his ear toward crying, and a resolve to keep calling.
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, I love You because You heard my voice. You heard my cry for mercy. The cords of death entangled me, but You saved me. I will walk before You in the land of the living.
