Endures Forever

A prayer for grief, from Psalm 125:1

Loss can make everything feel provisional, like anything else could go at any time. This psalm points at a mountain: those who trust in the Lord cannot be shaken, but endure. A prayer for becoming harder to knock over than you feel right now.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. Psalm 125:1 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, make me like Mount Zion—unshakable, enduring forever. Surround me as mountains surround Jerusalem, both now and forevermore.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
