Wise About Good
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Romans 16:19
Some fear comes from having been fooled before: smooth talk, flattery, people who used your trust. This prayer asks for the wisdom that protects without hardening, wise about what is good, innocent about what is evil. A prayer for open eyes and an unclenched heart.
I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. Romans 16:19 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, make me wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil. Protect me from smooth talk and flattery that deceives. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under my feet.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
