Strength and Shield
A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Psalm 28:7
A shield only matters if things are actually being thrown at you, and this psalm assumes they are. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. A prayer for protected trust, and even for joy inside it.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, You are my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in You, and You help me. Even in fear, my heart can leap for joy.
Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
