Some people live braced: every phone call a possible catastrophe, every unknown number a held breath. This psalm describes an alternative worth wanting: a steadfast heart, no fear of bad news. A prayer for becoming harder to terrorize.
They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear. Psalm 112:7-8 (NIV)
The prayer
Father, make my heart steadfast so I have no fear of bad news. Let my heart be secure and trusting in You. I will look in triumph on my foes.
