This psalm handles fear with two questions: the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid? Sometimes praying is asking fear to name itself in front of God and watching it shrink. A prayer in the form of a challenge.
The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 (NIV)
The prayer
Lord, You are my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? You are the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? My enemies will stumble and fall.
