Help Is the God of Jacob

A prayer for fear & anxiety, from Psalm 146:5

A lot of anxiety traces back to help that failed: people who should have come through and didn't. This psalm relocates hope to sturdier ground: blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, faithful forever. A prayer for trusting after being let down.

Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. Psalm 146:5 (NIV)

The prayer

Father, my help is not in humans who fail—my help is in You, the God of Jacob. My hope is in You, Lord my God, who remains faithful forever.

Make it yours: change any words that don’t fit, or stop at the one line that’s true today. Amen can wait until you mean it.
